Derryn Lynn Fuller is a musician/guitarist hailing from Port Elizabeth. Born and raised on the Coast, she was clearly fated to play music having been raised in a family teeming with musicians. Her grandparents played and sang Jazz music in the classic smoke – filled clubs of the 50’s and her father, Glenn Fuller, is a well renowned musician playing at pubs and various functions in and around Port Elizabeth. Her uncle is a professional musician who has spent his entire life playing the pro circuit throughout South Africa.
Having been influenced by this musical legacy of immense variety her influences are as linked to the great bands and musicians of the past as to the more modern styles. The Beatles have had as much impact as Muse or the Cranberries on her musical style and she enjoys Jamie Cullum just as much as ACDC. She has played at pubs and restaurants all around PE including The Zebra, Dagwoods, the PE Yacht club, Admirals, Memories and plays regularly at Toni’s place where she is on the Four Winds Folk Club committee. She also recently played at the Splashy Fenn festival in Kwazulu Natal where bands and musicians from all over South Africa come together for one huge four day music festival. Her musical repertoire consists of a mix of older classic songs and more modern, upbeat songs.
